Trump Issues Stern Warning as Israel-Iran Conflict Intensifies
Donal Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to Iran, cautioning against any attacks on American interests, while praising Israel’s ongoing military actions.

In a statement shared on Truth Social, Trump said:

"If Iran dares to strike any U.S. target in any form, the full force and unmatched power of the United States Armed Forces will respond in a way never witnessed before."

Despite the escalating situation, Trump expressed confidence that a peaceful resolution is possible between Iran and Israel, suggesting that a diplomatic agreement could be reached quickly.

Tensions Mount Amid Accusations and Denials

Trump categorically denied Iran’s claims that the U.S. is directly involved in Israel’s military operations. Meanwhile, U.S. officials confirmed that American forces had intercepted and destroyed Iranian missiles headed toward Israel, showcasing support without engaging in offensive strikes.

Nuclear negotiations scheduled between Washington and Tehran were abruptly canceled after Iranian officials refused to proceed while under Israeli attack. The abandoned talks were expected to continue in Oman on Sunday.

Trump Calls for Peace, Mentions Putin’s Potential Role

Amid growing concerns of a broader regional war, Trump voiced hope for peace, suggesting that a resolution between Israel and Iran was within reach. He even floated the idea of Russian President Vladimir Putin playing a role as a mediator.

"Israel and Iran will reach an agreement. Peace is coming—soon. Many meetings and calls are underway," Trump wrote on social media.

In an interview with ABC News, he hinted that the current crisis might expedite diplomatic talks:

"This kind of event might push both sides to act faster. They’re ready to talk, and talks will happen."

Trump Allegedly Blocked Israeli Plan to Target Khamenei

According to two U.S. officials speaking to Reuters, Trump recently vetoed a proposed Israeli operation to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. A senior U.S. official reportedly said:

“Have they killed any Americans yet? No. Until that happens, political leadership is off the table.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declined to confirm the report during an interview with Fox News, saying he wouldn’t comment on “false reports of conversations that never happened.”

Israel’s Strikes and Iran’s Response: Escalation and Civilian Toll

Israel launched "Operation Rising Lion" on Friday morning, targeting Iran's military leadership and nuclear infrastructure. The move marked a sharp escalation, with both nations trading missile strikes.

The Israeli military reported at least 13 fatalities over two days, including children. Iranian missiles hit residential areas in Tel Aviv and Haifa, injuring civilians and damaging infrastructure.

In Tehran, Israeli strikes set off massive explosions at fuel depots and flattened a 14-storey building, killing 60 people—half of them children. Iran has yet to release a comprehensive death toll but claims over 78 deaths on Friday alone, with more casualties reported since.

Iranian military urged Israeli civilians to avoid “critical locations” as fresh barrages were launched. Simultaneously, Israeli forces called on Iranians living near military facilities to evacuate immediately, signaling an expectation of prolonged attacks.

Netanyahu: Regime Change in Iran a Possible Outcome

While Israeli officials stated that the objective isn’t regime change, Prime Minister Netanyahu hinted that it could be a consequence of continued military pressure.

“The Iranian regime is fragile,” he told Fox News. “We are determined to eliminate the nuclear and missile threats. This isn’t just for Israel’s safety—it’s for global security.”

Netanyahu claimed that Israel's offensive would persist and called on the Iranian public to stand against their leaders.

Trump and Netanyahu on Coordination and Escalation

Netanyahu confirmed he informed Trump of the military plans before initiating the operation. Trump has lauded Israel’s actions but reiterated that any Iranian retaliation against U.S. forces would trigger a massive American response.

Despite growing fears of wider conflict, Trump insists the violence could be brought under control, possibly even transformed into an opportunity for peace.

Travel Disruptions and Regional Fallout

Israel’s national airline, El Al, suspended all flights until June 19 due to the ongoing conflict. Additional cancellations to Europe have been extended through June 23.

The Israeli National Security Council warned citizens to avoid travel to neighboring Egypt and Jordan, even though borders remain open. Both countries are under Level 4 travel advisories due to heightened security risks.

Calls for De-escalation from Global Leaders

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz expressed hope that the G7 summit in Canada could bring forward a collective effort to ease tensions and prevent regional destabilization.

As the humanitarian toll rises and fears of wider war grow, international pressure is mounting for all parties involved to seek a diplomatic path forward.
